College-NOW is an innovative program that requires the collaboration of North Central State College, Pioneer Career and Technology Center, and The North Central Ohio College Tech Prep Consortium. All College-NOW students are dually enrolled and are considered students at both North Central State College and Pioneer Career and Technology Center.
North Central State College is a public two-year community-based educational institution serving the residents of north central Ohio. NC State offers high quality, technical education in more than 60 associate degree and certificate programs in Health, Business, Public Service, and Engineering Technologies, as well as customized workforce training programs. Ashland County West Holmes Career Center serves high school
students
Pioneer Career and Technology Center serves high school students through 36 Tech Prep programs on the
Shelby campus and at the NC State Kehoe Learning Center, plus 20 satellite high school programs in associate schools. It also serves high school graduates through its Adult Education program track. Students who attend Pioneer participate in both Career Tech Prep laboratories and academic classes. Post-secondary classes are also available. The North Central Ohio College Tech Prep Consortium works with 27 area high schools and 5 local career centers covering a seven county area, to create seamless career-technical education programs that begin in the Junior year of high school and continue through an associate degree in college and beyond. Tech Prep programs stress mathematics, science, communication, and technology. They also emphasize teamwork, hands-on learning, work-site experiences, critical thinking, and problem solving.
